Our
Story
Effort Creates Opportunity was founded in 2024 by Richard and Arichica Banks to uplift communities through mentorship, financial literacy, wellness, and empowerment initiatives. ECO was crated to address gaps in access to educational resources, personal development opportunities, and community support systems for underserved youth and familes.
The organization provides mentorship programs, financial literacy workshops, fitness and wellness activities, youth engagement opportunites, and community-centered events that strengthen individuals, families, and the broader community.

Meet The Founders
Richard Banks brings more than 20 years of mentorship experience and has dedicated much of his life to supporting youth, encouraging personal growth, and building stronger community relationships. His leadership philosophy centers on collaboration over competition and the belief that strong communities are built through connection, accountability, and opportunity.
Co-founder Arichica Banks brings more than 20 years of professional experience in corporate America, including extensive work within financial institutions, leadership development, management, community engagement, and consumer education. Throughout her career, she has worked directly with individuals and families to increase financial awareness, improve access to resources, and support long-term financial stability.
Arichica has built a strong reputation for community leadership, relationship building, and advocacy. Her background includes managing teams, leading growth and engagement initiatives, developing educational programming, and creating community-centered strategies that connect organizations with the people they serve. Her experience in financial literacy education has allowed her to help individuals better understand budgeting, credit, banking, debt management, and wealth-building practices that promote generational success.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Arichica’s personal journey reflects resilience, perseverance, and a deep commitment to empowering others. Her passion for mentorship and community impact is rooted in overcoming adversity and creating opportunities for others who may face similar barriers. Through ECO, she combines her professional expertise and lived experiences to help families build confidence, stability, and hope for the future.
Together, Richard and Arichica created ECO to bridge gaps, strengthen communities, and provide meaningful opportunities that empower youth and families to thrive.
